2017 – 2018 Social Photo Documentary: the Middle East under Mask

  • Explored the untold story of the Middle East – the things that are hidden and unspoken. A photo, Turkey Supporting ISIS, was used by CNN Report. 20 photos were selected for Naming Social Documentary showcase.

2013 – 2016 Documentary Filmmaker: Bekaert. Istanbul, Turkey/New York, USA

  • Photographed daily life in Turkey for refugees, including Syrians and Africans. Photographed ISIS supporters in Turkey. 30 photos were provided to the NY Times archive.

2011 – 2012 Artist Collective

  • Connected 20 photographers who had been removed from work for political reasons and collected their work, edited selected photos and showcased.

2008 News Archiving

  • During the time of the Iran blackout when all news and Internet was cut off, organized group of creative to photograph and write about the happenings in Iran and getting the information out to Amnesty International, Getty Images, etc. Edited all photos.

2004 – 2005 Documentary Film: This Leaf. Kabul, Afghanistan

  • Filmed and photographed the daily life of people in Kabul. Collected content on Taliban, drug dealers, and mosques. Photos and articles about drug dealers and relation to the government were provided to the BBC.

2001 – 2003 Photography Apprentice under Kaveh Golestan, Tehran, Iran

  • Photographed homeless people, low-income areas, etc. Taught students how to do respectful and surreptitious photographing.
